Diving the Maldives' Huvadhoo Atoll

Also known at Gaafu or Suvadiva (the ancient Sanskrit name of this atoll) Huvadhoo is one of the world's largest atolls and also one of the Maldives' deepest with the floor of the inner lagoon reaching 90 metres in places. The name Huvadhoo is becoming a draw for travelling divers visiting the Maldives. The major part of Huvadhoo's diving is in the kandus on the atoll's eastern wall. During Iruvaa the inflowing currents around these channels produces good visability and concentrations of shark and pelagic specifies. Mahadhdhoo Kandu is one of the most beautiful of all the local dives.
