Off Borneo’s North West corner the Borneo Banks are easily missed in the expanse of the South China Sea. A small atoll, formed by 13 coral reefs, encloses a shallow lagoon, 2,000 metre deep outer walls are thickly cloaked with coral and sponges. Divers flock to Layang Layang drawn by seasonal marine visitors including its schooling hammerheads.
